Five jewelry students presented their senior collections to a notable jury including Maya Mukhi of Mukhi Sisters, Tony Ouzounian of the Lebanese Jewelers Syndicate, and two Majal instructors.
The collections came after a long process during which students moved from ideation to research to design, fabrication and drawing.
"The senior project class represents the peak of the certificate at Majal," Nour Tannir, program director, said. "It is designed to help students build a collection based on everything they have learned but also to showcase to our admins and to the world the abilities they have acquired.
Fida Zaatari, one of the jurors and the senior jewelry instructor at Majal, expressed her genuine joy at seeing the output of her former students. "I am really glad to see them blossom like this and to see their work come to life," she said.
Students projects included a collection about anxiety and depression, one about lotus flower seeds before the bloom, an architectural work on corbels, a memory-related work on the textures of the 2019 revolution and pieces about a childhood garden.
Stay tuned for pictures of the pieces. They will be on show during the graduation ceremony in March.
