In a bid to revive local textile design and production, MAJAL Design School and prestigious textile house Warde launched a competition in surface design for interiors.
The premises are simple: Students must take the Textile Design Class for interiors at MAJAL and create motifs and patterns based on a design brief provided by Warde. Winners are chosen during a jury session and their work is woven or printed and sold at Warde.
The competition runs until the end of 2024. All students registered in Textile Surface Design for Interiors during this period are eligible to compete.
As part of the competition, students met last week with Mr. Gabriel Warde at the company's Zalka branch and discussed the latest trends in upholstery and wallpaper design.
