Majal Design School Brings 24 Women’s Stories to Life Through The Path She Chose

Majal Design School announces The Path She Chose, a textile and multimedia exhibition bringing together the stories of 24 female students who used design to transform their lives. The exhibition opens Oct. 10 at Arthaus Beirut in collaboration with Creative Dialogues Beirut ’26.

Conceived and curated by Majal cofounder Yasmine Dabbous, the exhibition translates the women’s personal journeys into works of embroidery, beading, weaving, crochet, macrame and collage. “Textile starts with the word text,” Dabbous explained. “It is an optimal medium for storytelling.”

Majal Design School houses Lebanon’s first textile design certificate. It promotes a class-to-market approach, helping students reach potential audiences way before they graduate.

“These works were made by ordinary women, who worked from home or between job shifts, to create something extraordinary,” Dabbous explained. “We cannot be prouder of these students, who assumed centerstage with courage and determination. Through The Path She Chose, each woman is literally creating yet another path for herself.”

Creative Dialogues, by YVT, is a multidisciplinary platform designed to connect emerging talents, established practitioners, and institutions across the Arab world’s creative industries. In this exhibition, the team is putting its faith and powerful energy behind the emerging artists. “We are very grateful for the support we got from the Creative Dialogues team,” Dabbous said. “They believed in our mission and our students.”

The Path She Chose opens Oct. 10 at Arthaus Beirut as part of Creative Dialogues Beirut ’26. The exhibition will remain on view through Sunday, Oct. 11, late evening. Admission is free.
