Eleven Majal textile students received significant critical acclaim for their woven art pieces, displayed as part of Creative Dialogues Beirut earlier this month.
The show elevated textile arts to new dimensions, showing the potential of weaving in creative expression.
"Our students projected their views about Beirut through looms and threads," Yasmine Dabbous, the show curator, said. "Students did a wonderful job. They made us proud."
Each of the students addressed an angle or side of the city, visualising as it is and as it should be.
"When I worked on my woven artwork, I realised that Beirut as it is is even nicer than Beirut as it should be," Hala Itani, one of the exhibitors, said.
The show took place af Bossa Nova Hotel, and was attended by several dozen people and multiple media organizations.
