Seven textile students from Majal successfully presented their designs in front of Warde’s senior management this past month, prompting Gabriel Warde to congratulate them for their work.
The jury came at the conclusion of Majal’s Textile Surface Design for Interiors class this term. The class, offered for the first time in Lebanon, teaches students to design fabrics for upholstery, wallpaper and other interior textiles.
Students who take the class are eligible to run for the Warde-Majal competition, according to which best designs generated in class are selected, printed and sold by Warde. Winning students get a commission on every meter sold.
“The class was intense but we learned so much,” Samar Dakroub, Majal textile certificate student, said. “It was a great experience.”
A new Textile Surface Design for Interiors class is coming up this August. For more information, please check our courses.
