Textile Design
THREADS OF TRADITION
Our textile certificate program is the first certificate of its kind in Lebanon. It combines everything you need to design, print and decorate your own fabric, both for fashion and for home. When you graduate, you may work to service fashion and interior designers. If you are a designer, making your own textile will give you a distinct edge and add to your creative repertoire.
The textile design certificate includes 9 required courses, 3 electives and 2 specialty workshops. It can be completed in 1 to 2 years depending on the number of courses you take per term.
Our textile design instructors are experts in the field. They include researchers, graduate instructors as well as veteran artisans who developed their skills at an early age.
Textile certificate students benefit from a variety of resources including internships at renowned textile and fashion design houses and manufacturers, collaborations and networking with local and international designers, offers from select suppliers, consultancy to improve and promote their business ideas, and more.
Eligibility & Assessment
We seek to make the design scene in Lebanon more inclusive, so there are no prerequisites or requirements to enroll. Our school is open to everyone and anyone. To graduate, however, you need to attend all twelve courses and the two workshops, and to meet all class requirements in a satisfactory way. Assessment is based on a pass-fail valuation.

"I took an embroidery course at MAJAL and it changed my art and my life. I now make my own embroidered jewelry line. When I embroider, I am in another dimension. Thank you for the gift of embroidery!."
